Terrible weather = Great results

I found myself stuck in Edinburgh for 4 days (no trains or flights out of the city) due to the “beast from the east”. The plan was to take the first flight from London in the morning, taking the last flight out that evening, but the weather took a turn for the worst! As the snow fell on the first day and all services were cancelled, I was determined to make use of my time in a city where CEEK has a growing client base.
August is a great month for business development I believe, contrary to what most salespeople would contest. Of course, some senior management will be sunning themselves however, the people that remain typically have more availability. The snow had the same effect on the diaries of various business owners and senior managers I met last week, the few that lived in the city and made it into the office suddenly had meetings cancelled and gaps appearing in their diaries.
There is also a side benefit of meeting people in adverse conditions, especially when it truly was testing to reach some of the offices where the meetings were being held. The fact that I had purchased some boots from the local ski shop and changed them into shoes on arrival showed a level of commitment that perhaps, some of their own teams would not have shown.
Make the best of every situation!
My time in Edinburgh was improved dramatically by the team at Eden Locke, if visiting for business of pleasure I would highly recommend staying with them. The interiors are stunning, service impeccbale and the plug and play elements of the studio-like rooms such as the Wifi and Apple play set this "aparthotel" in a league of their own in Edinburgh.
