Terra Mater Studios receives Austrian Ecolabel

Terra Mater Studios is a production company of #nature #films for TV, cinema and digital platforms, as well as factual entertainment formats and publisher of Terra Mater Magazine. Due to the continuous implementation of sustainable measures, the company was awarded the Austrian Ecolabel in 2022.

The Austrian Ecolabel is an environmental seal awarded to companies for sustainable products and services. For Terra Mater Studios, this is a consistent continuation of the many internal #sustainability initiatives already in place, such as calculating and offsetting the company footprint. This award does not mean resting on laurels but is, at the same time, a commitment for the #future, as also demonstrated by the Sustainability Manager who has been part of the team since 2022. Guidelines are developed further with the management, monitored and the results evaluated for each project - better to reduce emissions in advance than to pay for CO2 compensation. Particularly in the area of mobility, there is potential for CO2 savings, which are optimized as far as possible in projects.

How deeply the sustainability idea is embedded in the most accurate meaning of the word becomes apparent in the relaxed conversation with a garden view. Walter K?hler and Josepha Müller-Hartburg geb. Andras , Sustainability Manager & Production Coordinator, point to a majestic tree that inspired the logo's icon. It's a healthy Japanese cordwood tree bursting with life, planted in 1890. K?hler was committed to its preservation, and the roots were successfully protected from invasive interference due to planned construction measures by ?BB.

The new building, completed in 2021, is also in line with the sustainability concept; a photovoltaic system on the roof, wooden construction and the use of geothermal energy through deep drilling up to 150m minimize energy consumption and the CO2 footprint.
