40 years ago you might have found your first gig and then stayed there for your entire career. Times are changing and we've started to see stints of two to four years become much more common. For gen-z, the average time spent in a job is actually just two years, while for millennials we're looking at about four!
There are some huge silver linings to this change. Yes, it presents challenges, but also some awesome opportunities! We're seeing candidates coming through who have incredible variety in their experience. That's because they've been open to new opportunities when they come, and less concerned about ticking off the time required in a role before moving on.
Just because it's normal for your team to move on after a few years doesn't mean we can't have a good punt at keeping your gen-z and millennial superstars around for a little longer. Here are a few tips that'll have them dodging recruiters calls and sticking with you instead:

So what should we expect in 2023? The job market is hot right now and plenty of people are jumping on the chance to seek a new challenge. We're expecting to see the average tenure continue to sit within the two to four year range. Yes, that means you might lose a few people. But that also means more fresh and experienced staff for your team. Pretty great if you ask us.
