Tennis, this is it!

I’m a very stubborn person. I think it has helped me in my career. I’m sure it has hindered me at times as well, but not too many times. I know that if I set my mind to do something, even if people are saying I can’t do it, I will achieve it. I am a graduate who is passionate about sports. With a vision of transforming my passion into a profession, I took this opportunity to pursue sports management at the Global Institute of Sports Business India ?(GISB), which will help me craft my career to excel. I would like to thank Mr. Gaurav Modwel ?(CMD-India on Track and chancellor - GISB) for believing that I could contribute to the sports industry through GISB.

Tennis enjoys a considerable following in India, although it is limited to urban areas still, it is counted among the most popular sports in India.?India has produced several tennis players, who have achieved international recognition and have made their presence in some of the top tennis tournaments and grand slams

Our management at the Global Institute of Sports Business along with Woodworks Communications arranged an industry visit for the TPL - Tennis Premier League with a motive to understand how a successful event runs. It was great to see one of the GISB alumni Sakshi Shah as a part of the project, who helped us understand the various aspects along with Vidur Arora .?It's the?fourth season of a fantastic tournament that was founded by Kunal Thakkur ?and mrunal jain

Kunal Thakkur is an ex-National Level Tennis Player who has dedicated his time to the cause of coaching tennis for the last 18 years. Kunal Thakkur is a prominent name that mentors and runs multiple tennis academies in Mumbai, which currently trains over 1,000 students.

Mrunal Jain is a?celebrity actor and entrepreneur who is known for his impactful roles in Indian television. With his sharp business acumen, Mrunal Jain brings in the glamour & entertainment quotient.

With a vision to promote and popularize?Tennis in India, provide?financial assistance and exposure?to the top players of our country, organize many?National and International tournaments?each year under the TPL brand, build a?sustainable and profitable?tennis event and launch?tennis academies in franchise cities?of India under the guidance of our mentors. A first of its kind sporting league promoted by tennis veterans?Leander Paes?& Sania Mirza?to name a few. Bollywood celebs like Sonali Bendre, and Rakul Preet, and businessmen like Punit Balan, and Sneh Patel as owners add that extra layer regarding visibility, reach, and glamour.

This league consists of some marquee players men as well as women along with some young talents who were discovered during their talent hunt program. I was happy to see that the League had arranged for the underprivileged kids to witness the live-action.

We got to witness a live interview of Sir Leander Paes, after the interview we also had an opportunity to click a group picture. Sir once said, " Age is just a number. When I started, I never worried about how long I was going to play. I had very specific goals, and that’s what I chased". Since that time I am on a mission to?chase?my?goal

Last but not least I would like to thank Pratik Sonawane who made sure we made the most out of this visit, which we all sure did.
