The Backdrop.
In our previous post , we covered the demand and supply in the service we are building. In short:?
Founders know their niche better than anyone else, but life of a startup is lightning fast and the operational grind often obscures the bigger picture. Intensely growing companies face scaling hurdles, partnership opportunities, outsourcing prospects, and temporary talent gaps. Markets evolve to leave blind spots, user personas change, the deck gets outdated and company culture deteriorates. Navigating legal intricacies is daunting, and lawyers cost per day as much as the office rent (one of the two simply must be paid). Investors provide valuable insights, but they can only do so much in board meetings. This is where we step in, with timely insights, valuable connections, and the top-tier fractional expertise.
The above led to distilling The Demand: the need for streamlined advisory services in the startup world of all scales. We also elaborated about the large community of global executives in our network, who want to offer their advisory to startups (The Supply).
Today we are continuing with The Plan. A.k.a: How It Works.?

We designed our TenNine Pro Advisory as a Service model.?
And here it goes:
1. Jumping into action.
We join you (The Startup) in opportune times and crucible moments (Sequoia, s.v. ).
TenNine Trivia: Roelof Botha of Sequoia inspired our naming. He used to write 10^9 in the corner of his notepad every week when he started at Sequoia 20 years ago. It served him as a reminder to deliver his private goal of earning $1 billion for his firm. In 2020, he even reached 10^10, or $10 billion in total gains. For us, the goal is to positively impact 1 billion people over the course of life of TenNine VC and TenNine Pro. Sounds silly, but we will do it.

2. Charting the course.
When I am acquiring a service as a busy founder, I want to know a minimum of four things:

TenNine Pro Partners nurture one base skill: to be the voice of the customer . We will receive your inquiry, evaluate it, frame our service, and safeguard outcomes.
Every startup is distinct, and we acknowledge your unique journey. While we bring a repository of best practices, we recognise and nurture your individuality. Which is your secret weapon in the first place, being a startup and inventing what was not there.?

TenNine Partner's job is to closely understand that individuality, tailor our approach and define manageable deliverables by all involved before crafting, organising, engaging Advisors and Fractional Managers, and overseeing delivery.?
4. TenNine Pro Advisors and Fractional Managers.
We will identify and engage stakeholders in our network who can see your mission succeed and effectively assist it.
TenNine Pro Partners will identify and engage Advisors and Fractional Managers to bring industry and market intelligence and senior fractional management to your executive table, when relevant and opportune. All under one engagement contract, with TenNine Pro.
5. Running together.
We will work with you in two-week sprints. We will meet every two weeks, we will brainstorm and exchange, we will decompose and assemble, we will validate and plan.?
In the meantime everyone does their part. We do the necessary research to educate our guidance, you do the needed operational work to instil processes and do while learning. Together, we are a team on a joint mission. In a low engagement - high impact model designed for efficient and streamlined progress – ideal for the dynamic startup environment where you have the practical know-how, and we focus on the strategic vision.
6. The flat fee model. No equity exchanged.
Everyone deserves compensation for their work.?We've structured our fees to be both adequate and cost-effective. Our value comes from expertise and commitment, not mere hours on the clock.
Our pricing will not strain your budget. We are more affordable than a junior associate. Hire them right after we lay the groundwork.
7. Staying by your side.
We aim to build long and successful bonds and follow you as our portfolio company throughout your growth. We will pride on seeing you maximize your company successes, and look to continue the thread of our support in future contacts.
Our advisors will stick around, continuing or revisiting support, if everyone desires it of course. You be the champion, we stay the coach.
8. The investment angle.
We would be dumb to not invest in the winners who match our Earth and Society thesis. Simple as that.
