Ten years of EuroBrake knowledge sharing
Chris Mason FIMI
Chief Executive Officer, FISITA : Non-Executive Director, The Institute of the Motor Industry
2021 is the tenth anniversary of FISITA hosting knowledge-sharing in the EuroBrake community, and to mark this special occasion, we’ll be opening up our entire library of EuroBrake technical papers dating back to 2012 to everyone who takes advantage of the early bird registration rate before the end of March. This should enable everyone who signs up in time to appreciate how much the braking world has advanced in the last decade and how EuroBrake has been at the heart of promoting the latest technologies.
As part of the event build-up, we will preview the 2021 Technical Programme and look back on the key content from the previous nine years. In the coming weeks, we’ll also be publishing interviews with a number of executives and keynote speakers from the braking industry and sharing insight from our sponsors and exhibitors. We’re also delighted to be working with our media partner, The BRAKE Report, to ensure the entire programme and its content reaches the widest possible international braking audience. Please respond to this post and begin this year’s braking conversation here on LinkedIn.
In terms of the EuroBrake event itself, the FISITA and Steering Committee team have been focussed on understanding how an online event will be different, what key aspects of the physical event can we keep, and what we, as a community, gain through the transition to online.
Where a purely online event may lack some of the face-to-face engagement and impromptu discussions with other delegates, EuroBrake 2021 will be delivered on a virtual platform that enables live presentations, content delivery, and ‘intelligent networking’. It’s this unique networking facility that offers attendees the opportunity to connect during the event week, and of course, we’ll be using the platform to ensure all delegates, sponsors and exhibitors can make the connections they’re looking for. One key part of last year’s event that we successfully delivered virtually was the EuroBrake Student Opportunity Programme (ESOP) and we are looking to build on that experience in this new platform and deliver a rewarding experience to a new cohort this year, delivering on FISITA’s commitment to supporting the next generation of mobility engineers worldwide.
We’ll also continue to work closely with The BRAKE Report to expand the international EuroBrake community and braking technology audience and encourage FISITA Corporate Members to join EuroBrake, strengthening OEM and Tier 1 contribution to the community. We’re confident that investing time in EuroBrake networking will reap rewards and make the EuroBrake experience even richer and more enlightening. As we build the audience with the community’s support, EuroBrake 2021 offers a unique opportunity to demonstrate to existing and potential members of the community the value of EuroBrake, as an engagement, knowledge generation and sharing, and thought leadership opportunity; confirming EuroBrake as a must-attend event.
Not only does our virtual conference platform offer a rich knowledge sharing experience it is designed specifically to enable exhibitors to promote their latest products, technologies, materials and services. We’re excited to see how innovative the community will be in this space, what technologies and new advances will attract the most attention, and how EuroBrake 2021 will begin a new era of richer and more engaging events.
I’m looking forward to meeting as many attendees as possible during the event – both old and new friends – so please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to set up a meeting. Here’s to an exciting and forward-looking EuroBrake 2021!
All the best, Chris
