What does the future hold for the digital currency?
If you purchased BTC before August 2017, you are still in "profit"... For the moment.
The end of year selling of crypto currencies, has mirrored the year end profit taking that creates a dip in the equities market.
The question to ask ourselves now is, will the buying return in Q1 2019, or is the market going to wait for Crypto 2.0 ?
It would take me too long to wade in on all the possibilities, so I will leave the last paragraph of the article below, as my final thought;
"The global money-laundering watchdog says it will set out by next year rules for how governments should regulate cryptocurrency exchanges in a bid to stamp out the criminal use of bitcoin and other digital coins."
I remain an optimist for the digital currencies - only a few of them - they have significant potential in my humble opinion. Changes are needed though, but not necessarily the changes governments would like to implement.

6 年The biggest money laundering cabal on planet earth should have no say on what cryptocurrencies do or do not. Our biggest mistake as a civilization is allowing governments to attain as much power as they have and then despite their total failure as an institution, to continue taking them at all seriously. Bitcoin is the one invention that provides the world with sovereign money. It empowers the citizen to that of a king, but people do not yet get it.
