Ten leadership lessons learned from my dad

Ten Leadership Lessons learned from my dad (and Mom)

For Father’s Day, my two sons got me a Journal called “Your Father’s Story” for me to fill out. I loved it as it not only became a way for me to communicate with them as teenagers, but also a way for me to document my life journey. This Journal asks you to reflect on questions like your lineage, how you grew up, your childhood, teen years, lessons learned… So, for Father’s Day on June 20, 2021, I decided to tackle the following question:

What are the best lessons you learned and advice you received from your dad? Here’s what I wrote:

1.     Leave this place better than how you found it.

2.     Talking is silver and silence/listening is golden

3.     Be Strong!  He who angers you, conquers you.

4.     Be content with what you have instead of thinking about what you don’t have.

5.     Live within your means.

6.     Don’t take no for an answer. There will be more people in this world who would say no to you than people who would say yes.

7.     Don’t ever give up. You should always try. Destiny is achieved with hard work.

8.     Love one another, to me, my brothers and sister, as your will always have each other

9.     Have the courage to dream big, act small and have faith in God.

10.  Just be you as you are good enough. People don’t define who you are.

Thank you, Dad!! Love always!!

Share you your lessons learned from your dad or mom.
