I’ve been reflecting on the type of clients who have achieved the most success.
What they all have in common is they run a busy clinic and lead a practice with several osteopaths or a multi disciplinary team.
And they are very different from other clinic owners who stay stuck and struggling.
Here are my top ten observations:
- Those at the helm have a positive attitude, with both a reflective and forward thinking focus.?
- They harness their team and continuously praise and reward excellence. These principals also train and develop team members so that exceptional patient care is delivered to the highest standards across the whole clinic.
- The clinic owners are also keen on self-development, striving to improve their own leadership skills. They will ensure they are in the ‘right rooms’ where they can learn from and collaborate with other high level business owners.?
- Clinic operations are slick and automated as much as possible to save time doing repetitive tasks. This also ensures that the same systems run across the whole practice to maintain consistently high standards.
- Branded clinic wear creates a cohesive team look and eliminates washed out uniforms or sloppy appearances.
- The patient list is gently nurtured to maximise income per client, without ever overtreating or irritating them.
- These principals also have a keen eye on their key metrics to track profitability; charging correctly, eradicating wastefulness whilst expanding their revenue streams.?
- Self-care is always a priority, with fixed time away from treating for important clinic management and planning. Holidays are taken regularly to allow for recuperation, reflection and rest, so that burnout is never an issue.?
- Annual and quarterly planning is completed in advance thus avoiding potential knee-jerk actions, costly purchases or poor decisions being made.??
- Last but not least, these successful clinic owners are forward-thinking and innovative, embracing technology to augment every aspect of their practice, with a strong focus on serving their community to the highest possible standards.
If you're not quite there but you'd love some guidance towards ticking more of those boxes in the next few weeks (whilst everyone else is napping over the summer) you are welcome to message me.
