TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GOOD BUSINESS

TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GOOD BUSINESS

As soon as I thought about publishing this, I heard a thousand voices say, “OK, Boomer.” While good customer service may not be dead, it is on life support. Occasionally we see some companies trying to revive this lost art and it’s always based on the following believes.

  1.  A customer is the most important person in any business.
  2. A customer is not dependent upon us, we are dependent upon the customer.
  3. A customer is not an interruption of our work, but is the purpose of our work.
  4. A customer does us a favor by visiting us. We are not doing them a favor by serving them.
  5. A customer is a part of our business, not an outsider.
  6. A customer is not a cold statistic, but is a flesh and blood human being with feelings and emotions like our own.
  7. A customer is not someone to argue or match wits with.
  8. A customer is one who brings us wants or needs. It is our job to fill those wants or needs.
  9. A customer is deserving of the most courteous and attentive treatment we can give.
  10. A customer is the lifeblood of this and every other business.

Don't you wish there were more companies out there that truly believed this and practiced what they believe? Those companies that do will prosper. Those that don't will fall by the wayside.
