In my head.
Its is amazing how time flies and the ever changing grind of "stuff" can make up the outcomes of a lifetime. What "stuff" you focus on, results in what outcomes you deliver.
The Last 5 weeks
I have spent a lot of time training. 2 Sessions on Women in Entrepreneurship totalling 4 hours. 8 Sessions on the Business Financial Health Check and understanding the types of fair outcomes and discussion points that make up best practice. 5 afternoons on the Ivy House Leadership Program, meeting the most awesome peers and digging deep to maximise personal potential.
Many notable events. Be Inclusive at the Guildhall Cambridge was amazing. I support the Self Employed team, helping to bring Business Owners to profitability, many are working the hours and putting in the energy needed, but just need a bit more support. My Speech was focused on my favourite subject of Neurodiversity, not treating employees like cogs and diversity of thought. It appeared to go well. So many amazing people were present all focused on thinking outside the box.
Coffee and Co-Working led by Nicola Marshman ACMA , we had a smaller group but so much collaboration. Thank you Nicola.
Iain Peate and Nick Ruddle have be planning a Bishop Stortford networking event for September.
Meet the Neighbours. Cambridgeshire support organisation zoom chat about who is doing what where and when. Organised by Debbie Lewis
Glen Horn sadly not a jazz band went through his amazing scenario based working training session at the The Bradfield Centre . Food was awesome as was the guest list. Rich Wainwright was playing the role of dictionary corner.
Open Cambridge Day with Karen Boakes , we had 2 really strong business come in for support, for which we have both done the introductions and follow ups to support.
Cranfield School of Management Venture Day. Last Years event changed my life. I have spent 12 months learning about climate and finding a way to deliver STEM 3 carbon supply chain information. This was about survival and acceleration. It was an amazing day again. Staffing, funding and resilience were the key items that resonated for me. However my main takeaway was that continuity and scenario planning is not being done. Between 1972 and 1974 we experienced most of what we are seeing not but without Quantitative Easing and Post Pandemic issues. Also 1945 and 1922 were similar.
I also facilitated WIB Tribe 3 and learned a valuable lesson that context is needed for information. The Ladies were forgiving quite quickly but I did weigh up my ability to out run them. Coffee and Coworking as above and Triple Header business builder were also fun events with courageous learners.
Holiday and Downtime
For my Daughters first holiday abroad and our first flight in 12 years (my climate compass went into moral wretchedness) Marco Williams (no relation) sorted everything for us to go to Athens. My daughter is obsessed by Greek Gods and she got see the sights.
I watched the film the Big Short on Netflix, really interesting for a banker to watch.
