Tempted to write off 2021? Here's my take ??

We all say this all the time don't we, but where did the time go this year?

I keep double-taking when I look at my calendar because I'm sure we're still in June, but suddenly it's 10 weeks till Christmas and the holiday season is right around the corner.

It's one thing to feel like this when your business is up and running, and creating consistent, stable revenue month after month.

But I remember all too well what it can feel like when you have a brand new business, or the spark of an idea for one.

The months seem to slip by, and it can feel like by this point in the year you start wondering if you should just put it off until January.

Here's why I think that's a HUGE missed opportunity.

We're just into October.

That means there is still the best part of 3 months to do the thing that will benefit your consulting business the most...

Building relationships.

All too often we can kind of have an idea about what it takes to build a consulting business - by making sales, right?

And it's true, you need to make sales to bring in revenue.

But the sales part is the icing on the cake. It's the tip of the iceberg.

And your consulting business 'cake' is made up of regular relationship-building activities.

Having conversations.

Asking for introductions.

Creating content.

Going to networking events.

Hosting your own events.

Sending emails.

Picking up the phone.

Making new business friends (with strategic connections they want to leverage for you!)

Or to put it another way, if you want to be making sales by January, NOW is the time to be putting in the hours getting your prep work done.
