Forbes Article - Once Again, In 2023, Many Cable Networks Had A Decline in Audience
What's going on in the cable world? Well, linear TV-- whether broadcast or delivered over cable-- is declining as consumers are switching over to streaming video feeds. The most important thing to these consumers is their Wi-Fi connectivity.
Any cable or telephone operator that does not recognize their primary role as an internet provider in today's era is destined for failure. Very simply, to the end user, they supply Wi-Fi (more mature technicians and engineers agree that wired Ethernet is still king in terms of reliability). That said, when you consider that the people who own and operate the cable infrastructure still provide us with connectivity, you are likely to see business models changing. Hopefully, this will be a positive development for the majority of users where true competition exists. However, for areas underserved by competing technologies, the market forces could favor the providers. Watch this space…
Regardless, Tempo Communications is here for the long-haul and will support your company in maintaining your copper and fiber network. Today let's highlight a key cable tester; the TV220, more particularly its newest version TV220E & EX.

Summary
There have been a lot of changes made that are "under the hood,” enhancing overall performance and speed while preparing for upcoming features. The noticeable changes primarily involve how the TDR conducts its automatic tests and displays events with return loss. Also, we've added more information to the status bar and refined the process for reviewing saved files.

Summary
So, even with changes in how services are delivered to end users and the evolving approach of using fiber that extends closer to customers, the practical reality remains. In the real world, where drop cables are often directly buried, the replacement of such cables remains an expensive undertaking, and companies will rely on these existing installations for some time to come. Tempo's TV220E/EX and other products can assist in maintaining these infrastructures.
