At ColdLink Logistics, maintaining the correct temperature for perishable goods was critical. One chilly morning, Arjun, the operations manager, received an urgent call from Priya, the warehouse supervisor.
“Arjun, we have a problem! The temperature in Cold Storage Unit 3 has risen by 5 degrees, and it’s not stabilizing. We have a shipment of seafood scheduled for today. If we don’t fix this soon, it could spoil,” Priya explained anxiously.
Arjun understood the urgency. A temperature fluctuation could mean significant financial losses and damage to their reputation. He hurried to the control room to check the temperature log, noticing a spike early in the morning.
“We need to inspect the refrigeration unit immediately,” Arjun instructed. They rushed to the back of the warehouse, where the compressors were located. A quick check revealed a blocked air vent, causing the refrigeration unit to overheat.
“This is the issue,” Arjun said. “Priya, call the maintenance team to clear the vent and check all units for similar blockages.”
Within minutes, the maintenance team arrived and began working. Arjun directed Priya to shift the most sensitive products to another cold storage unit as a precaution.

An hour later, the vent was cleared, and the temperature began to drop back to safe levels. The seafood shipment was saved, and the crisis was averted.
Arjun gathered the team for a debrief. “We need to prevent this from happening again. Let’s implement a more rigorous maintenance schedule and install temperature alarms for immediate alerts. We should also train our staff to respond quickly to emergencies.”
The team agreed, and within weeks, new protocols were in place. When a similar issue occurred, the early alarm and swift response prevented a disaster.
ColdLink Logistics became known for their proactive approach to crisis management, reinforcing their reputation in the cold chain industry.
