Telling the Story
Students from Harding Elementary, a United Way community school, helped us with the voiceover and recoding of our newest video messages!

Telling the Story

If someone asked you to give an elevator speech on United Way of Erie County, what would you say?

Telling the story of United Way and the Community School Model is no easy task. We aim to seize opportunities to share the message through one on one meetings, presentations to key stakeholders and regular communications with donors and partners as often as possible.

The many layers, elements to social impact work and long term strategy required to successfully carry out United Way's mission to crush poverty makes telling the story of United Way challenging at times.

That's why, we recently worked with our friends at R Frank Media on the production of a new 60 second and 30 second video message currently airing on broadcast TV and social media channels. We are grateful to Cee Brown (pictured above right) for his partnership in being the powerful and resonating voice behind these messages.

The goal was simple...demonstrate, in a very short amount of time, the impact our work is having on local children and families. And, we think we did just that! Watch the 60 second version below which features each and every one of United Way's 16 community schools.

It starts with community and commitment to student success.

It starts with love for what you do and whom you serve.

It starts with students, parents, teachers, coaches and leaders.

It starts with me, with us, with you.

Through United Way, tomorrow starts today.
