Think about this in your own life. Think about a fictional story that inspired you. That encouraged you. That outraged you. That moved you to tears. Harken back to some of your favorite movies. If you’re like me, you love underdog stories like Rocky and Rudy.
I’m confident you will agree that stories are indeed powerful. So please, by all means, consider using them when you need to win someone to your way of thinking.
If you’re in sales or marketing, if you’re a copywriter or business owner, your job is to make sales, or at least help drive the sales process forward.
Going back to what we said a moment ago: “Facts tell. Stories sell”.
So what propels your prospect to make a buying decision. Logic? Or emotion? You guessed it. Emotion! Even though they use logic to justify their decision, your customers make the decision to buy emotionally.

Let me ask you this: what will conjure up their buying emotions, facts about your product… or a story? Not just any story, but an emotion-drenched story that paints a vivid word picture in their minds.
A story that highlights their painful problem, you know, the one YOU can help them solve! A story that shows them how you added value for someone just like them. A story that shows them as the hero on an epic quest to reach a cherished goal.
My advice? Harness, and unleash, the power of effective storytelling in your marketing. In your selling. In business. In life. Read and watch inspiring, entertaining, riveting stories, both fiction and from real life. Learn from them.
Study and practice this incredible art and become a master storyteller.
