"Tell me, how can I help you?"

I learnt a lot of things in the past year, professionally and personally. I’ve improved my technical and personal skills through a lot of learning, studying and engagement.

?But one of the most valuable life-lessons I’ve learnt this year, is the art of genuinely asking someone “tell me, how can I help you?”.

Whether it is a client who wants to sign up to my sessions, or a LinkedIn message from a professional stranger, if they reached out to me, that means they believe that I could serve them in some way.

I’ve decided, that if I can genuinely help, if I’m the right person to help – then I will, period.

?This small phrase has improved my personal and professional engagements drastically and how I feel about myself more generally.

?It’s interesting how when I genuinely put myself out for service, I’ve allowed myself to be more generous and vulnerable and essentially, something “opened” in my heart. I’m now more able/willing to ask for help when I need it – which I had a tough time doing for many years.

?And when I ask for help, somehow, the person on the other side, seems to say something along the lines of “tell me, how can I help you?” and it warms my heart every time.

Since I launched Noor Consultancy & Coaching , I received messages from two very valuable individuals, senior veterans in the banking industry – asking me how they can help me get to my goals. They come from kindness and authenticity, and I’m humbled with their faith in me and for them extending themselves with so much generosity.

But I don’t think it is random, I don’t think it’s a coincidence – I think this is a direct, reciprocal response to my renewed energy and faith in the Universe.

I hope next time, someone reaches out, believing you can support them – that you ask with all the authenticity in your being: “tell me, how can I help you” and watch as the world unfolds.

• This is not an invitation for “abuse” or “selling yourself short”, use your judgement to assess the persons’ genuinely and their intentions
• Do it, only if you believe that you can be of service
• Lastly, and this is the most difficult, please don’t do it expecting anything in return. There’s a time when you serve, and a time when you receive – not every occasion, not every time.
