Telling engaging data stories is a crucial task for data leaders. Having worked in marketing for many years, I have now digested that the information lands on people's brains only if they listen to it multiple times, from different sources. Well, this task might sound a bit time consuming, that's why I started thinking at how to fast track this process and I found this example.... talking about Data Mesh!

Get ready to strap in and mesh up, because I'm about to give you the lowdown on Data Mesh!

So, imagine you're in a big, fancy restaurant. You're hungry and you want some delicious food, but the only problem is, the chef is off in the kitchen cooking up a storm and you can't see what's going on back there.
?All you can do is sit at your table and wait for your food to arrive.
That's kind of like how traditional data architecture works. The data is all locked away in some back-end system, and you have to wait for it to be served up to you in a nice, tidy package. But what if you want to know more about the data? What if you want to see how it's prepared and where it comes from?

That's where Data Mesh comes in. It's like having a window into the kitchen of that fancy restaurant.?

Instead of one central system that controls all the data, Data Mesh is a decentralized approach that allows each team to own and manage their own data. Think of it like each team having their own kitchen station in the restaurant, where they can cook up their own dishes and share them with the rest of the restaurant.
But here's the catch: just like in a real kitchen, each team has to follow certain standards and protocols. They can't just whip up whatever they want and expect it to be served to customers. There are rules around how the data is stored, how it's formatted, and how it's shared with other teams. But if everyone follows the rules, then the end result is a delicious feast of data that's easy to access and understand!

So, to sum it up: Data Mesh is like a fancy restaurant where each team has their own kitchen station and follows specific rules to create and share their own dishes. And just like in a restaurant, when everyone works together and follows the rules, the end result is a mouth-watering data feast that satisfies even the hungriest of appetites!
