Telescoping on Winders, Unwinds and in Storage.
Telescoping is not a single defect, but rather a collection of largely unrelated defects that happen to have a superficially similar appearance. Some happen on the winder, some on the unwind and some happen during storage. Some are tight defects, some are loose defects and some are taper defects. Here I show you how to tell which is which so you can set up your winder curves to minimize trouble. Once the winder is optimized, you may need to also consider the other factors which are unique to each of the types.
