Telemedicine in COPD
A team of Universit?t Hamburg conducted a cost-utility analysis to evaluate whether telemonitoring interventions for COPD are cost-effective from the perspective of German statutory sickness funds. They used a combination of a Markov model and a decision tree and compared telemonitoring as add-on to standard treatment with standard treatment alone. They concluded they provided evidence that telemonitoring may be cost-effective in Germany from a payer's point of view which holded even after deterministic and probabilistic sensitivity analyses.
