TELEGRAM TOUGHENS STANCE AGAINST PIRACY

Telegram toughens stance against piracy in the last few weeks; the Telegram has removed several channels posting pirated e-books. Many customers have reported on social media about the removal of the channels/Groups.

Telegram was used not only as an instant messaging app but also as an e-book library. What made Telegram so famous was the ability to share files up to 2 GB in size. Telegram, which is very popular among movie lovers, has many channels and groups to share e-books and films. Such channels are currently being shut down. However, pornographic and pirated video channels are occasionally shut down. Such rapid action is the first time, so many channels have been removed together for the piracy of e-books. Groups that share such content have also faced similar action, and contents get removed. The channel owners have also received copyright notice from the Telegram moderators.

?It has long been a complaint that digital books, including PDFs, spread rapidly through Telegram. Pirated content is most widely transmitted by Telegram. Publishers have often called for an end to this. The channels have been removed several times, but they return to the Telegram again under various names.

As per the latest news, Telegram is now considering blocking mobile numbers connected to such infringed channels/groups to reduce the piracy level on their platforms.

Fight against piracy is a war—the war we are waging together with the sole aim of victory.
