Amazon, the renowned eCommerce giant, has announced to increase its investment in India with an additional USD 15 billion, thereby raising its total investment in the country.
2.????Vi Can Only Launch 5G by Nov-Dec 2023, but Nokia and Ericsson Have a Condition: Report
Vodafone Idea (Vi) can only launch 5G by November - December 2023 in the earliest scenario, said an executive working with one of the major gear vendors. But for that, the telco will have to place a purchase order for the equipment right now. But the only condition for Vi here is that there won't be any facility of credit. According to an ET Telecom report, Ericsson and Nokia have made it clear to Vi that they won't be supplying 5G equipment on credit. The telco already owes thousands of crores to the vendors in debt. Vi wanted a scenario where the payment terms could be relaxed, but it isn't likely going to happen as the vendors won't expose themselves further to the company.
3.????China’s ZTE Gets Government Nod To Supply Equipment Worth Rs 200 Crore To Vodafone Idea
Chinese equipment maker ZTE has received the government’s approval to supply optical transmission equipment worth over Rs 200 crore to Vodafone Idea (VI) for a network upgradation project.?Another Chinese company Huawei has also filed additional documents to the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) for getting approval as a ‘trusted source,’ reported the Economic Times. It is a pre-requisite for becoming eligible to provide telecom network equipment under new contracts.
