TD Tech is a Chinese-based company?founded jointly by Nokia and Huawei in Beijing in 2005. The company has R&D centres with highly educated employees that study wireless communication technologies and make various products for carriers such as China Mobile where their products and solutions dominate its 3G and 4G commercial networks, commanding over 60% market share. Then the company also started pawing the road to private network business back in 2011 which is something Nokia is highly dedicated to nowadays.

Huawei appears to have scuppered Nokia's sale of its stake in their China-based joint venture, TD Tech. The big Chinese vendor says it will not work with local firm?New East New Materials, which has offered 2.1 billion Chinese yuan (US$305 million) for Nokia's 51% holding. Shanghai-listed New East, which manufactures hi-tech inks, announced Sunday it was seeking to raise up to CNY2 billion ($209 million) to fund the deal.

The U.K. government’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology set out a new?Wireless Infrastructure Strategy?today, and it includes a goal related to standalone (SA) 5G. The strategy includes the goal to deliver SA 5G to all populated areas in the U.K. by 2030, to extend 4G coverage to 95% of the U.K. population, and to invest £40 million ($49.65 million) to drive innovative 5G-enabled services for businesses and the public sector. While many wireless carriers in the U.S. and other parts of the world have transitioned their networks to SA 5G, the U.K. carriers are lagging.
7.????Comcast, Extreme Networks deploy Wi-Fi 6E at Oracle Park
Comcast Business is partnering with Extreme Networks to provide a fully Wi-Fi 6E-capable network at Oracle Park, home to the San Francisco Giants. The deployment will make Oracle Park the first professional sports venue to be completely Wi-Fi 6E ready, according to the companies. Traditionally in the U.S., Wi-Fi has operated in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Opening up the 6 GHz band coincides with the 6th generation of the Wi-Fi standard, which are designated with the 6E moniker. Wi-Fi 6E comes with faster speeds and lower latency. That means the Giants will be able to improve the fan experience inside the park to include things like fast mobile ticket entry and mobile concessions as they ponder future innovations like AR/VR experiences and biometrics-based park entry.

Nokia announced that it has been selected by Zain Jordan in a multi-year deal to supply 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment throughout Jordan. Through the deal, Zain will be able to support the digital transformation of the country by offering superior 5G services with enhanced connectivity and capacity to customers. A major part of the deployment is expected to be completed during 2023.

Telkom and Telkomsel have signed a Conditional Spin-off Agreement (CSA) to spin off and integrate IndiHome into Telkomsel. IndiHome is 100% owned by Telkom and the largest fixed broadband business in Indonesia. The spin off and integration are in line with Telkom’s Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) initiative, and the signing of this preliminary agreement is a crucial step in implementing TelkomGroup’s strategy to bring about more choices and a better broadband experience, realize digital inclusion in Indonesia, and strengthen TelkomGroup’s business. The transaction will be value accretive for Telkomsel and has received the support of Telkomsel’s shareholders.?Telkom and Singtel. For Singtel, this integration aligns with its strategic reset principles of pivoting towards higher growth businesses, while reinforcing its commitment to Indonesia.

A new US law is set pass that will name and shame any country it considers an ally if they are found to use any Huawei or ZTE kit. It’s called the ‘Countering Untrusted Telecommunications Abroad Act’, which already tells you much of what you need to know about the bill. The bill was first presented to the US House of Representatives in July of last year by Representative Susan Wild.
