1.????Delhi Court Summons Huawei India CEO Li Xiongwei, Company Officials
Huawei India has been accused of tax evasion by the CBDT and saw its offices raided in February 2022. The I-T Department alleged that Huawei India officials willingly withheld information that was sought. The court order noted that the Huawei India’s officials were guilty under Section 275-B read with Section 278-B of the Income Tax Act.
2.????Tech Mahindra’s revenue from 5G solutions grows five-fold in one year
Tech Mahindra is going big on 5G solutions — its next growth charter. The IT services major’s revenue from 5G solutions grew from $125 million in FY21 to over $600 million in FY22, a jump of nearly five times. It has invested more than $300 million in developing its 5G capabilities over the last two years. The company closed two major deals in the 5G space last year. Tech Mahindra’s offerings in this sector caters to the telecom and enterprise segments, but most of its business comes from its 5G for Enterprise suite of solutions.

AIS teamed with Chinese vendor ZTE to establish a 5G innovation centre in Thailand, as part of a wider cooperation agreement aimed at modernizing the operator’s mobile networks.
4.????Facebook Fails Again To Detect Hate Speech In Ads
Facebook and its parent company, Meta Platforms, flopped once again in a test of how well they could detect obviously violent hate speech in advertisements submitted to the platform by the nonprofit groups Global Witness and Foxglove. The hateful messages focused on Ethiopia, where internal documents obtained by whistleblower Frances Haugen showed that Facebook’s ineffective moderation is “literally fanning ethnic violence,” as she said in her?2021 congressional testimony. In March, Global Witness ran a similar test with?hate speech in Myanmar, which Facebook also failed to detect.

Prior to this announcement, Juniper had been going to market in CASB via its partnership with Netskope, an SSE Magic Quadrant leader. Having its own CASB gives the company better control of roadmap.
11.?Qualcomm acquires Israeli startup Cellwize
Qualcomm Technologies announced?that it has acquired Israel-based startup Cellwize Wireless Technologies. Terms were not disclosed. Cellwize, whose clients include Verizon, Telefonica, Nextel and Movistar, provides 5G network deployment, automation and management software platform capabilities that strengthen Qualcomm’s 5G infrastructure solutions, according to Durga Malladi, senior vice president and general manager, Cellular Modems and Infrastructure at Qualcomm.

Thanks to TIM and Ericsson’s deployment of a 5G network at Comau’s headquarters in Turin (Italy), three new applications have been launched to demonstrate the advantages of the new technology, and in particular those arising from the slicing functionality of the network, within an industrial environment. “Network Slice” is a virtual logical network slice of 5G that can support different application cases with special characteristics and requirements. TFCo would be managed by Nourdine Bihmane, who brings a wealth of experience in the technology sector. TFCo would aim at delivering a full turnaround and restore growth, profitability and cash generation by 2026.
