Telcos, IoTs, and Customers Expectations

As we move towards a more connected and digitized world, customers are increasingly expecting telcos to deliver innovative new technologies that enhance their lives and businesses. One area where telcos are delivering on these expectations is the Internet of Things (IoT).

IoT technology allows for a vast array of devices to connect and share data, creating new opportunities for efficiency, productivity, and convenience. Customers are expecting telcos to be at the forefront of these developments, providing the necessary infrastructure and expertise to support IoT solutions.

But customers are not just expecting telcos to offer IoT technology; they also want it to be secure, reliable, and easy to use. Telcos need to ensure that their IoT solutions are built with security in mind, protecting sensitive data from cyber threats. Additionally, they need to make sure that their solutions are easy to deploy and manage, with user-friendly interfaces and reliable connectivity.

As we move forward, customer expectations for telcos will only continue to grow. The challenge for telcos will be to stay ahead of the curve, anticipating customer needs and delivering innovative new technologies that exceed their expectations.

How do you see telcos meeting customer expectations for new technology? Your thoughts are welcome..!!

In my humble opinion, the Telcos are ahead of the game. They are ready to connect (at scale) and serve and exceed expectations (if budget permits). If anything their innovation of ways to connect is moving faster than the customers can cope with. Digital transformation (IoT beyond R&D) takes time. I don’t think the expectation conundrum sits with the telcos. It takes an ecosystem to resolve security / change management / interoperability. The full value will be realised when OT - IT - Telco - Talent - Compliance etc align.
