Teknofest, Türkiye's largest tech and aviation event
Teknofest, Türkiye's largest tech and aviation event, is set to start on April 27th at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport. The festival will showcase a variety of competitions in different categories, ranging from chip designing to smart transportation and model satellites. Monetary prizes amounting to 13 million Turkish liras ($670,000) and material support worth over 30 million Turkish liras ($1.55 million) will be distributed to the winners and participants.
In addition to introducing cutting-edge technologies, Teknofest will also feature the latest defense products including drones and hold airshows. The event is organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation and Türkiye's Industry and Technology Ministry, and is held in various Turkish cities in even years, while in the metropolis of Istanbul in odd years.
Initially planned for Izmir, Istanbul, and Ankara as part of the Turkish Republic's centenary celebrations this year, the event in Izmir was canceled due to the earthquakes that hit the region. The event in Ankara is scheduled to begin on August 30th.
Teknofest first took place in 2018 at Istanbul's new airport and has since seen high numbers of visitors and hosted numerous events. With the event being held in Istanbul this year, the festival is expected to draw significant attention from tech and aviation enthusiasts worldwide.
