Despite the rather worrying developments of the world situation, the most prestigious international auction houses are collecting precious lots of high jewelery that include contemporary pieces as well as priceless antique gems.
Let's talk for instance about the Contemporary And Antique Jewels ‘TEFAF Online’ Art Fair.
TEFAF, the European Fine Art Foundation, will be organizing an online fair on November 1 – 4. The prestigious virtual show will host more than 300 exhibitors on the Online platform “TEFAF Online” including a number of contemporary jewelry designers and antique jewelry dealers.
Those who attend TEFAF Online will have the option of live and immediate interactions with all exhibitors, who will be available for discussion and to conduct business.. a similar setting was also available at the last edition of Voice '20.
Among the most recognizable participating jewelers, the ones I'd like to focus on are:
- Cindy Chao, The Taiwanese artist known for her sculptural gem-encrusted creations. One of the jewels she is featuring is the 2020 Black Label Masterpiece III Green Plumule Brooch, featuring 487 fancy-cut emeralds of several shapes and sizes, totaling 172.58 carats.
- Wartski the acclaimed London dealer is one of a select few Royal jewelers. One piece he is highlighting at the fair is a “Medusa brooch” (Paris 1870) made of carved agate and yellow gold.
- Wallace Chan, the Hong Kong-based high jewelry artist, known for his dreamlike artistic creations and his groundbreaking techniques as a craftsman. Wallace will unveil the “In Love with Spring” butterfly brooch, featuring an 8.24-carat imperial topaz emerald, rubies, yellow diamonds, orange sapphires, tsavorite garnets and diamonds set in titanium.
- Otto Jakob, The German goldsmith specialized in miniature jewels depicting flora and fauna themes. He will present “Lale VII” made of yellow and white gold; diamonds; and red, green and black vitreous enamel.
