TEFAF Maastricht 2023
Design & Practice
Design consultancy working with creative businesses and culture brands to deliver tactile brand experiences.
Established in 1988, TEFAF is widely regarded as the world’s preeminent organisation for fine art, antiques, and design.
Design & Practice helps TEFAF translate their heritage of outstanding art, antiquities, and design objects into a digital and print campaign that exceeds the high expectations of their audience.
Design & Practice created an immersive campaign across digital and?physical touchpoints, the visual identity for the Maastricht edition of TEFAF gives viewers a unique way to interact with the works of art that can?be found at the fair.?
Using the idea of a virtual lens that travels over works of art to bring forward?details in the work, a suite of animated assets were created to bring art and antiquities into a contemporary digital brand campaign.
Alongside the digital campaign, Design & Practice also created a suite of luxury marketing items, including: invitations, floor plans, gift bags, press kit, and programming flyer for the fair.
The set of invitations draw attention to the details and tactility of experiencing art. The tonal monochromatic invitations are made by reworking an image of a real artwork into overlayed PMS colours. Materiality and special production techniques add tactility and intricacy to the experience of receiving an invitation.
Working closely with the editorial team, Design & Practice created the Maastricht edition of TEFAF’s magazine, which allowed visitors to take a piece of the fair home with them. The magazine explored the homes and collections of some of TEFAF’s exhibitors, as well as art collectors.
