Have you ever felt like you are a teenager and having stress is subsiding your happiness and productivity? Well, the same was the case for me. Now I not only study with hyper focus but I also stay contented, making people around me feel safe. ?? First, we will resonate our problem then I will give you the solutions to depression which I incorporated to make life like a life, not a burden.
- ? FOMO: When we hit our teens, we fear a lot of things including the future, money relationships etc. This fear is termed FOMO (Fear of missing out).
Example: If we don’t study the whole day, we think that this way is destined to sabotage down the road. In this case, we are afraid of future failure. In the same way, we feel a variety of FOMO at different stages of life.
- Ingrained beliefs: Our teenagers unfold some ingrained beliefs from society that we should act in a certain way in a specific condition otherwise we are not well-mannered.
?Example: Clothes, choices and freedom etc
- ?? Comparison: Comparison is a big reason for stress. Wait wait. We are insecure by using this term for ourselves. But trust me we all grow up in a society where everyone is striving to live a better life than others so this programme has already been installed in us since our childhood.
- ? Personal problems: Every teenager has problems. Whether we are facing financial, relationship or social problems we do take a lot of strain on them which puts us off, decreasing productivity and contentment.
Finally, let’s beat this depression together. Come on.
- Wiping FOMO from our lives is important. Think about future FOMO, we all became victims of it, missing a lot of enjoyable moments. We thought that working all day long is a way to secure our future but this is not a parameter to measure your productivity. The thing which matters is the result you have got by working. You can study 18 or 5 hours a day to complete the same task. This is up to you. Give yourself a favour and don’t drain your energy into the all-day busy trap. This idea is helping me tremendously to manage study and freelancing simultaneously.
- Accept that those perspectives which you have to confront from people around you are their experiences and it became part of their beliefs. Ingrained beliefs within them are their perspectives but these are dynamic according to time. If people try to lobby you to apply their ingrained beliefs as a solution to your problem you need to remember one thing that they are grown in a certain matrix. You cannot apply their tactics to your problems every time because those were might good in past but not in present. So, listen to them with respect and mould their opinions according to your situation wisely.
- Teens are so desperate nowadays. This is due to the comparison with social media elite’s lives, friend's or relative’s life. Comparison is good but if the counterpart is you from your past version. The people who you compare yourself might have struggled before or they may not show their miseries before the world. Be just to yourself and if you cannot help making comparisons, compare yourself with the ones who are living a miserable life. Take a deep breath and say I am living a wonderful life.
- When we enter the age bracket of 17 we have to face a lot of bad times head-on. Yes, you can’t avoid them and they are crucial for life as they cultivate resilience within you. Have you ever heard talks of successful people? They all had one thing in common, to work no matter what the situation was. believe me, bad times are good times. They prepare you to take less stress whenever you encounter the same problem again in life because you have developed resistance to them.
- Practice gratitude journaling and say thank you to God for having food, shelter, clothes and much more. Depression is caused when we are hopeless about life. Please do it for three days you will feel a drastic change in your feelings about life. I guarantee, you will incorporate this in your life forever.
- Life is too short to complain, spread happiness and ignore negative people around you by thinking that they are the victims of their situations. It’s better to stay alone than to be surrounded by negative people because being their friend will surely have an effect on your emotions which is called mirroring emotions. Don’t welcome other people's negativity because you already have too many things to focus on. Right?
Stress can lead to physical and mental paralysis. Don’t mortgage your happiness to success. Now the act is in your hands. Be cautious because it is your life. It is your success or it is your suffering.
