The National Mathematical Centre, Abuja, provides the impetus and organisation for Nigeria’s participation in the Olympiads. The NMC states, “One of the National Mathematical Centre (NMC) Abuja mandates is to identify young talents in the Mathematical sciences and train and prepare them to compete internationally. Through the Centre, Nigeria started participating in the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2005, first as an Observer Country and later, in 2006, as a participating country. Nigeria participates in six central international mathematical science Olympiads annually, coordinated by the Centre.

?

“They are the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), the International Biology Olympiad (IBO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), and the Pan African Mathematical Olympiad (PAMO).”

Chukwure’s results keep expanding his stakeholders. They now include the Rivers State government that many look up to for support in this venture.
