Yesterday, I did a webinar for SMM Connect, a community for Sales and Marketing Management Magazine.
The webinar was LinkedIn + AI = A Lead Gen Dream Come True.
You can watch the replay HERE .
I showed how LinkedIn is incorporating AI into their platform, and how to use AI to do research and create ideas for content.
I also talked about the potential pitfalls of using AI and ChatGPT.
OpenAI acknowledges that ChatGPT "sometimes writes plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical answers"
If you are generating content using ChatGPT do not use the output verbatim.
Use the output as an idea generator or starting point.
You should have a corporate content policy to ensure people aren’t sharing unedited content on social media.
An interesting question came up.
Companies are starting to block ChatGPT.
"How can we convince companies not to block ChatGPT?"
Imagine people at your company with unlimited access to ChatGPT.
They can create and content to share on social media through your company's accounts.
While it's great to share content on social media, who's in charge of vetting the content to see if it's appropriate or true?
Most larger companies have a social media policy and limit who has access to the corporate social media accounts.
What about small companies or solopreneurs?
But what happens if employees are using ChatGPT to create deliverables for your clients?

Who's vetting that content?
It could be very embarrassing when a client discovers they paid you for plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical information.
I brought up Google.
For the past 20 years, we've been searching the internet to find answers.
Is everything we read on the internet true?
Hell no.
When we do a Google search, the top results may be from 10 years ago but their SEO efforts are still paying off.
I see it all the time but I know when I see old content because I did SEO for a living in a past life.
Most people don't know they're reading outdated content but they use it in their research.
The "Godfather of AI," Geoffrey Hinton, quit his job at Google.
Many AI experts are sounding the alarm to slow down because AI could do more harm than good if you misuse it.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
Hit Return and tell me where you stand on AI.
