I get this question all the time.?
Is it better to connect with someone on LinkedIn or follow them??
Years ago, LinkedIn added the option to follow someone who reached their connection limit of 30,000.?
LinkedIn connections are your first-degree connections. You accepted their request to connect or vice-versa.?
Once you are a first-degree connection, you can send LinkedIn messages to each other, unless they turned off messaging (I'm seeing a lot more of this lately but that's a topic for another day).?
When you follow someone, their content will appear in your newsfeed.?
You will not be able to message someone you follow unless you are both premium LinkedIn members.?
A new wrinkle recently appeared when Creator mode rolled out.?
When you turn on Creator mode, your Connect button is replaced by a Follow button.?
I used to receive 10-20 connection requests a day.?
Now most people Follow me instead of inviting me to connect.?
This saves me a lot of time because I don't have to sort through dozens of invitations every day.?
Did you know you can still connect with people who have Creator mode turned on??
Click the More button then select Connect.?
Don't forget to Add a Note to your invitation.?
Hope that helps.?

2 年I just found Creator Mode and it seems like a great fit for me. Didn’t know you could still send a connect request. Thanks! This was helpful.
Prices: set them and forget them? Or increase them as your capabilities make bigger differences to your clients? You deserve revenue growth. That’s how I help knowledge professionals and B2B services firms.
2 年Ok I take your word for it! Perhaps the couple if people I asked to connect already reached their limit. I will check.

2 年Ted Prodromou I understand if someone already has the maximum connections then following is a good option. What do you think about people whose profiles say "X prefers to be followed"? They are unwilling to connect. That's a one-way street.
