Technology Vs Humanity - Which one you feel will dominate the world in near future ? With the Technology advancement like Artificial Intelligence which will drive the future with the capabilities that human have (Artificial General Intelligence), Is there a threat to Human Element ?

Human Resource (People) must always be the base foundation for the Process and Technology that drives the organization culture , Business Strategies . To stay competitive organizations must focus on their vision and mission that revolves with people centric and employee friendly culture and process

  • Does the company vision consider the Human Values as core value ?
  • Does the Process and Policies consider employee persona and Voice into picture?
  • Does the Technology leveraged will drive the enhanced employee experience and ease of access?
  • How the Organization culture is embedded to drive the work culture like Hybrid, Office based or Virtual that will ensure the work-life balance
  • Are there data privacy controls and effective governance in place at all levels of HRMS ?

Being a HR Profession, It is always very critical to have focus must be the "People Centric" with Human Element kept as a reference point while driving the organization goals, Vision, Mission, Policies, Procedures, and Business Strategies

Organization culture must embed the positivity, diversity, empathy, innovation, growth, learning as key focus areas that will lay a strong foundation for the great place to work.

Along with HR Team, It is equal responsibility of people managers to drive the culture and process by understanding the team or individual needs and concerns. Here are few ways how a manager can ensure trust and transparency in all aspect of the day-to-day operations :

  1. Be a Active Listener : As a manager one should first be ready to listen complete story of his/her team members before judging or concluding early. This gives some space to build rapport and also ensure trust levels.
  2. Be Flexible : Being flexible is one the critical parameter that will help build strong manager -employee relationships, Before resource allocation - Have a 1:1 connect with team and understand their concerns or interests , competencies and learning curve to help design the process map that will onboard everyone work collectively and collaboratively.
  3. Be Adaptable : Adapting self to the situation will make ease of handling even tough circumstances. There is no "One-Size fits all" solution for every problem . So it is very important to analyze the situation clearly and change the way of dealing according to it . Brainstorm with team to get ideas , this create sense of belongingness among team
  4. Never Micromanage : As a Manager, one thing that needs to be get rid off is micro-managing the team, Instead just be a mentor to guide wherever needed and lay a platform for the team to grow in their career
  5. Focus on Wellness : Irrespective of Pandemic or Non-Pandemic situations, Health is always the priority. As a Manager, It is prime responsibility to ensure that the team is mentally strong and are given enough time-offs to boost their mental wellness
  6. More Learning & Growth : Manager must focus on providing more scope for learning, innovation and growth options to the team which will keep the employees stay in the organization for longer period of time. Regular check-ins can be done to help the team in all these aspects on regular basis.

Above pointers are few key things that every manager can follow in addition to many other points that they follow in day-day operations.

If you look at the above narrative, it is evident that "Human element" is playing a key role in the organization culture and success, Technology is just a medium we choose once we have "people centric" Process and procedures intact. Never ignore the human value at any step which can look negligible sometime but most of the time it will have overall huge impact

In order to drive key change management in a organization, technology infrastructure alone can never make it, here the key pillar will always be the People . If you succeed in bringing all the employees on one common platform to work collectively for achieving common objective then driving change management will be easier and smooth.

Change is always one constant thing, so continuous improvement is a ongoing journey . Never settle down for something best , there is always scope of improvisation be it be process or technology but remember the driving force must always be the "People"
