Mr. Ankur Garg holds the role of VP at Wheelseye, where he oversees DevOps & Platform Engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Technology from IIT Roorkee and began his career as a developer for US and European clients before transitioning to Infrastructure. During his tenure as VP at Paytm and HT, he automated infrastructure processes, improved reliability and security and led major migrations to AWS and Kubernetes, driving cost efficiencies. At Accenture and Genpact Digital, he pioneered the DevSecOps practice and led as the head of Devops, Infrastructure and Platform Engineering.
What does a typical weekend look like for a senior leader like you, balancing work responsibilities and personal time?
My weekends are a dynamic mix of innovation and rejuvenation. I often start my mornings by looking into new tech trends and tools that could boost productivity or bring innovation to Platform Engineering. By the afternoon, I shift focus to family and personal interests, whether that’s reading or working on a hobby. This balance helps me return to work refreshed, with new ideas and energy

If you weren’t a C-suite leader, what career path would you have chosen instead?
If I weren’t in a leadership role, I’d probably work on improving education, especially in rural or underdeveloped areas. I believe technology can transform learning and I’d want to bring tech-driven education to remote areas, making sure students gain skills that are relevant in the real world. Closing the gap between academic study and application in industry would be my main focus.
What is the one piece of life advice you would like to share with others as an individual?
I will suggest to embrace discomfort as a catalyst for growth. The biggest growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone. Staying curious, adapting to change and taking risks are essential for opening up new opportunities and achieving long-term success. That’s where true innovation takes place
Who is your role model, and what qualities or achievements of theirs inspire you the most?
Elon Musk is someone I greatly admire. His approach to solving big, complex problems—whether it’s space exploration or sustainable energy—shows what’s possible when you think big and act boldly. His ability to take risks and push boundaries reminds me to be fearless when pursuing transformative change.
