Technology Will Replace Adjusters If They Do Not Do This!!

Technology Will Replace Adjusters If They Do Not Do This!!

We have been discussing if the next wave of Insurtech will help adjusters become more efficient, or help adjusters become more extinct?

The TRUTH is, that is partially up to the Adjusters themselves. The Adjusting community needs to come together & get in front of it. We need to realize that "WE" are an “Industry”… and "WE" can make “Change” and “Innovate”

We have other options-- WE do NOT have to just wait and see if we get replaced!

I'm working with a company right now that wants to help Adjusters be more efficient. We have some great products and services we are working on, & some great companies we are working on partnerships with. We want to bring products & services to insurance to:

  •       Help adjusters be more efficient
  •      Prove that good adjusters ARE needed
  •      Prove that it is better to give adjusters better tools than it is to replace them with different tools

We want to get additional feedback, now, from the people in the field every day... But we also want to find open minded, forward thinking professional in the industry to network with, and also share some of the products with early on… Whether that is when they are first released, or before public release to beta test and give quality feedback.

So please comment, and share, so we can create a good public conversation about this and move forward.

** If you don't want to contribute, please don't...

BUT IF YOU WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO SAVE YOUR JOB,

DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR JOB!!

** Anyone that does like this & contribute some comment, I will send a link to next week for an invitation to be part of some of the things we are working on.

Insurers need to find ways to become more efficient. There are companies lining up to show the carriers solutions for replacing adjusters.

#InsurTech has Major Plans to remove Adjusters to alleviate expenses. So we Need to have our own Word/HashTag.

Lets start using #ClaimTech

Because we want to build technology to make the claims more efficient. We want to build tools we can use as adjusters to do our job better. We want to prove that technology PLUS Adjusters is going to beat technology that replaces adjusters

*** We need to address the problems we have as adjusters & the problems we have as a community, then find ways to solve them. What makes our jobs more difficult that maybe together we can find new changes for? (CAT or Daily)

List any problem, or any part of the process that you wish was easier or removed from the scope of adjusting. Or list any ideas or solutions.

Some Examples:

Problems

·        Too difficult to schedule large number of claims efficiently at the beginning of a CAT

·        The different requirements for each carrier or IA firm, even though it is the exact same work being submitted, Different formats, different forms, different software

·        Contractors with AOBs

Solutions:

·        Allow adjusters to work as partners over a set number of claims to help schedule better, or utilize each other’s strengths

·        Offer mentorship programs

·        Have better training

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

What makes your job more difficult, that maybe the carriers don't understand?

What changes can we ask them to make to help us do better for them?

** Don’t forget, Carriers are listening to anyone and everyone now to see who can save them money.

I know. I know. I know. Carriers have never been very open to hearing from adjusters, in years past, about what they think would help them do the job better. And, you might think that right now is not going to be much different… ***But I can promise you one thing… next year, or the year after, when they have already chosen, & implemented, other technologies to replace you, will definitely NOT be the time to approach them with ways to make your job better!

Many Adjusters do not realize it. It is Now or Never. The Claims Industry IS going to change, and when it starts happening, it will happen fast, leave a lot of casualties, & have no remorse.

You can help change it, or you can be what gets changed

I hope to hear from a lot of you.

I don't care if you are staff, Independent, 20+ yr vet, Brand new trainee, field adjuster, desk adjuster.... Speak up, give your opinion, Be Present

The more "techie" we adjusters become, the more management think we can handle more claims all with the same same life cycle and at the same cost per claim. Just an observation.

As I work with a large number of IA's I am very interested in any tools that will assist them in producing a better product.

Okay here is where the first issue is. There are very few adjusters that know what they are doing. Then we go up the chain to the TPA who have desk examiners that can't do an estimate, then up the chain again, to the litigation team because people can't read a policy and don't know the laws. The insurance most significant cost is the attorneys who want to drag out every claim case as that how they make their money. Which there usually is a kickback to someone back at the insurance company that the stockholders don't know about. By the time we get to the underwriter?and risk managers, they don't have any understanding of what it takes to complete a manuscript claim. It is like to different worlds. I am one of the very few that have started at the bottom and understand the top. I would love to see the day that blockchain comes together from start to finish. So until?you find the talent to take you?from a-zed, you will be piecemeal the?blockchain need to make a change.

Ray, I have been preaching that the two sides of the ravine are purely human and purely technical #claimtech is the bridge, and it is a two way bridge at that. We don't have to be one or the other (only human or only AI). We can come together as an industry and build realistic tools to harness the value in both the human and the technical element. We have some great products in work to do just that. Let's talk.
