?Its a widely known fact that businesses generate massive amounts of data annually, and organizations must manage data storage via the eDiscovery process. The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the use of digital tools and features such as Slack and Microsoft Teams, accelerating data volume growth and increasing the complexity of eDiscovery data. Today's eDiscovery professionals must arrange and sift through a vast volume of unstructured information in various settings, including emails, chats, documents, logs, audio, video, images, emojis, and text, in search of the factual "gold" concealed in it.?
Discovery professionals no longer have to go it alone, thanks to plenty of new advancements that can facilitate efficiency and optimize each step. But how are today's legal professionals dealing with the increased volumes of data?? To better understand the matter, e-discovery specialists surveyed e-discovery practitioners using technology.?
In this survey, 95 percent of the respondents agreed that the volume and complexity of data in eDiscovery are dramatically increasing each year.?Moreover, 89 percent of respondents agreed that this trend would raise the quantity of eDiscovery work. Almost three-quarters (77 percent) believe the risks posed by eDiscovery are also on the rise.??
Artificial Intelligence applications are currently learning to process visual inputs, speech, language, and more. Is this to say that human employment is no longer required? Or is AI technology simply a supplement to revising the hundreds of documents in eDiscovery? Only time will tell.?
