Technological progress with progressive tenses

November 2009. Near Plaza de Las Cortez, Madrid. At one of the many “madrile?o” tapas bars, two guys have a conversation about the incredible opportunities ahead of the content production community, generated by the use of metadata tagging and asset tracking in digital media workflows. Part of the process required some “glue for the broadcast space”. A few hours and many beers and scotches later, glue became gloo and cast became kast. GLOOKAST was born! But we still needed a corporate motto to let our world know about the solutions GLOOKAST would bring to market.

A deeper conversation with some mentors in our industry made it very clear that there is no such thing as a universal solution for the workflow puzzle. The reason? No two workflow “puzzles” are alike! 

Some initial conversations during GLOOKAST's very early days continue to drive our focus seven years later: GLOOKAST does not have a boxed solution to the multitude of production workflow puzzles; instead we will always continue solving the workflow puzzle. GLOOKAST will continue developing technologies that can help the progress of broadcasters and content producers.

At IBC 2016, GLOOKAST will introduce new features and products across our two product families: Gloobox and Glooport. Most importantly, we will introduce a new, flexible, and simple concept of services. Not just “media services”, but “workflow-defined media services”.
