New orders for electric vehicles from multiple Chinese companies, including Huawei, Xiaomi, and Leapmotor, increased more than expected during the recent seven-day National Day holiday in China, as?strong sales momentum ?continued in October and the festival season boosted positive sentiments further in the market.

Taiwan-based chip manufacturer MediaTek and American chip giant NVIDIA are reportedly set to collaborate on the development of a 3nm AI PC chip, due to begin tape-out this month and enter mass production in the second half of 2025, according to a leak by Chinese tech influencer?@MobileChipExpert . The new chip will integrate a NVIDIA GPU (graphics processing unit), and will likely be adopted by major PC manufacturers such as Lenovo, Dell, HP, and ASUS.

XPENG Motors 小鹏汽车 is shifting towards a? camera-based sensor system and away from expensive lidar, on Thursday providing a handful of new details on its assisted driving technology. A new electric sedan also made its debut at an event, bringing the company into direct competition with popular models including the Tesla Model 3, BYD’s Han, and the Xiaomi SU7.
