TechnipFMC lands subsea contract for Australia's Gorgon development

27 July, 2018

Chevron has awarded TechnipFMC a subsea installation contract for the Gorgon phase two development, located offshore Western Australia.

The contract covers the project management and engineering, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of umbilicals and flying leads as well as manifolds.

TechnipFMC will also carry out fabrication, transportation, installation and testing of rigid spools.

The Gorgon project is operated by Chevron Australia working alongside its joint venture partners ExxonMobil, Shell, Osaka Gas, Tokyo Gas and JERA.

The phase 2 development aims to upgrade the project’s existing subsea facilities to ensure production is maintained for future gas supply.
