Technical Services Manager, Africa

Our client, a leading gold mining company with operations across Africa, is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to join a high-performance management team at an expansion-focused operation in Africa. The Technical Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing underground technical services activities across mine engineering, geology and geotechnical areas.?

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing high-performance-driven technical systems and procedures to support underground mining operations;
• Providing technical support and guidance to the management team on all aspects of underground mining;
• Overseeing sound execution of mine planning, design and production cycles to optimise site operations;
• Overseeing the collection and analysis of geotechnical data to support mine design and planning;
• Managing and mentoring the technical services team to ensure high levels of performance and professional development;
• Ensuring all underground mining activities are in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.??

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field;
• A minimum of 12 years of experience within underground mechanised mining surroundings;
• Knowledge and experience with Long Hole Stoping mining methods;
• Strong experience with short to long-term mine planning procedures;
• Experience managing technical services team/s in an underground mining environment;
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Candidates who do not have prior expatriate experience will be considered for the role.
