ECS Team Building in?Fuengirola
Following the challenge of the Pandemic the ECS Team have worked incredibly hard to hit growth targets and bring us through these difficult economic times. We couldn’t let that go unrewarded so the whole team jetted off on a 3 day company holiday to Fuengirola on the Costa Del Sol in Spain.
We recognise achievement because people change business!
The whole team got the chance to relax and unwind by the pool, soak up some rays at the beach, share a few cocktails and most importantly enjoy some action packed team building on an amazing aqua assault course!
Quick Tip
Promoting health and wellbeing at work is more important than ever!?
1 in 6 people experience mental health problems in the workplace (14.7%), here are 3 things we can do to safeguard mental health at work:
The ECS team share their experiences working at ECS and taking care of mental and physical well being.
Natalie Goodison | Account Manager?“ECS massively helped me when my dad passed away. Everyone was very supportive, patient and caring. My team checked in with me regularly at the time and even now know me well enough to recognise when I’m having a down day and provide me with the support I need. It’s so nice to know that I’m so supported personally and professionally.”
“For me it really helps me to chat and I always feel if I ever need to get things off my chest, everyone at ECS is happy to listen. Another way I find helpful to work on my physical and mental well being is going for a walk and getting some fresh air.”
Katie Ross | Accounts Assistant?"Within the team I work in, we always say if we come into work in a bad mood or just not feeling ourselves, to talk about it first thing, get it all out, and then we instantly feel better and we know what kind of mindset each other are in and we can try our best to offer the right support"?
"Since we have started to work from home, I have found I enjoy going out for a walk before work or at lunchtime, even if it's just half an hour in the fresh air it really helps clear my head ready for the day."
Latest Industry Insights
The UK labour market has struggled to bounce back in the wake of the pandemic. There has been a shortage of candidates across multiple sectors. This has led to a candidate market with more positions than candidates to fill them.?
As a result workers have been able to secure high starting salaries and signing bonuses but with warnings of a possible recession on the horizon and vacancies now dropping,?Tom Scullion, one of our Account Managers here at ECS reflects on the current and future face of recruitment in IT, Telecomms and Engineering...
Are you seeing hiring beginning to slow in your area of expertise or is the labour market still strong??"The volume of roles seems to be slowing down slightly, however it is still very strong and there is a high demand for talent."
Are you seeing candidate shortages in any particular areas??"Pretty much every area of IT is experiencing a shortage of people, however the most challenging area to hire for at the moment seems to be the mid-level roles such as network engineers, software engineers etc as there is such high demand here compared to junior and senior roles."
Do you think people will still be able to push for elevated starting salaries in the coming months??"Definitely. Companies still have a backlog of IT projects from Covid, and now more than ever, companies are so reliant on both keeping their own systems running and delivering new digital product/services, companies are still willing to pay ‘top dollar’ to hire the right people."

How the ECS Technical Recruitment Service and Thrivetech candidate assessments are helping top UK VAR's save time and money.
Our Technical Recruitment Services (TRS) and exclusive Thrivetech candidate assessments allow us to share valuable insights to help improve our clients recruitment process including:
"Recruitment is a non-perfect science and quite often leaves me second guessing myself during the formal interview stages.
The Thrive assessments allow me to have a deeper understand of the potential candidate prior to this. Thrive provides 2 reports, one of which is for the recruiter/line manager. This, I have found particularly useful in down selecting candidates by identifying strengths, as these assessments can be tailored for your required role.
In addition, the report provides areas of identified risk and gives questions to ask the potential candidate during the interview stage. This has provided a more formal, structured framework for the face to face interviews.
I would recommend using Thrivetech to any business as a tool to enhance your current recruitment process."
