TECHNICA Convention 2023 MSA

We are delighted to invite colleagues and practitioners to attend the 1st TECHNICA Convention, being held at Manchester School of Architecture, on the 21st of April 2023.?

The TECHNICA Convention, is a full-day event, exploring ways to advance teaching and research of the technologies subject in Architecture. The event brings together all the Technology Leads from Schools of Architecture in the UK, as a community of practice. The aim is to discuss current and future challenges related to Technologies teaching and propose strategies to continuously improve our practice. ?

Throughout the day we will have a keynote speech, seminars, practitioners’ panels, and workshop sessions. A full detailed description of the event structure can be found of the document attached.

There will be opportunity for institutions to share their innovative teaching practices at the seminar sessions across 04 thematic areas: Tectonics & Constructability, Climatic Response, Structural & Fire Safety, and Future Practice.

Institutions that are interested in presenting at the seminar sessions should submit a 500-word abstract, containing a general description of the module or teaching activity, in terms of its place in the overall architecture curriculum, aims (i.e. learning outcomes), methodology, supportive infrastructure and results (e.g. discussing current challenges and future opportunities).?
