The Techie’s Diary: Chapter Two.

The Techie’s Diary: Chapter Two.

Hey techie,

I’m currently on a bus to Lagos, watching the world pass by through the window, and I’ve been lost in deep reflection with my AirPods in, tuning out the noise. There’s something about long journeys—the ever-changing scenery—that stirs the soul and lets the mind wander freely. It’s in these quiet moments that ideas flow and memories resurface, creating a perfect space for introspection. You can relate, yeah?

So, I’ve actually been thinking about my tech journey and how far I’ve come. Omo, it’s been quite the ride, and it hasn't been easy. It's incredible to look back and see the progress, but it's also humbling to remember the challenges and the perseverance it took to get here.

Tech has always been something I loved, but even with that passion, it took me three years to figure out what I wanted to do. It was frustrating, and many times, I found myself questioning if I was really meant to be in tech. Maybe love isn’t always enough, lol. During those years, I grappled with self-doubt and uncertainty, and I kept wondering if I was on the right path.

I tried my hands at designing websites, delved into digital marketing, explored Flutter, and experimented with various other fields. At one point, I was genuinely exhausted and felt like giving up.

But you know what? I’ve come to understand that it’s all part of the process. Every attempt, every struggle, every failure—it all contributes to the journey. It’s part of what makes us. Through these experiences, I discovered my passion for bringing products to life. Now, I’m a budding product manager, and it feels incredibly fulfilling to see how far I’ve come. The whole process was worth it after all—I’ve learned a lot and acquired many skills that have been incredibly useful in shaping my career.

If you’re in a phase where you’re confused about choosing your career, take a chill pill. It's okay to feel lost sometimes. Here’s a video I recorded some time ago on how to choose the best career in tech for you. It could help: https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/boluwatife-rotimi_techcommunity-linkedinforcreators-scalewithtife-activity-7163790234030227457-EXTV?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios

Remember, finding your path is a journey, not a race. If you’re tired and on the verge of giving up, please keep going. Nothing good comes easy, really. The road might be tough, but every step you take brings you closer to where you’re meant to be.

I’m sending you all my love and positive energy to keep you motivated. My love is with you always, because sometimes, that little bit of extra encouragement can make all the difference. This love is enough lol.
