TechDay'19 @ NewYork : The View

Larger Premises (Jacob Javits Convention Center), Much quicker entry (including PrePaid Fast Pass) , Well set up aisles to walk up and down 300 Booths, and 20,000 Visitors on May 2 made up namely 'The Largest Startup Event in the U.S.' . Tech Day'19 NewYork was back with the annual one-day event, and my 5th Consecutive Year to attend ! (Perspective on Previous Year Events at end of blog).

The Cool (Actually, Chill ) ! : World's Fastest Way to Chill BlueQuench has made a portable ice cooler like unit, connected with a Pump and able to cool room temperature Cans/Bottles in just 60 seconds to Chilled. Using centrifugal, the fizz does not burst out on opening. Visitors (and friends) aptly termed it : 'The Reverse Microwave'

Here's some A.I : A practical A.I app for helping users improve their #PublicSpeaking (Actionable coaching/ suggestion on their recording), Presentr certainly caught the eye. Works via browser or mobile; it records/coaches on upper body actions,voice and words.

And, #A.I. Insurance : Really taking a long shot, IEnsurance wants to develop an #Insurance product, providing coverage for job losses owing to #robots , #automation. Just a concept yet, but worthy to mention in the present socio - economic dialog.

The Chic : Always, something for the fashionista. Visualize (and smell) a Tattoo - cum Henna - cum Fragrance, that's Amkiri : Visual Fragrance for you. ChicSketch is certainly making waves at trendy events now.

So Where's the Tech Tech ? Some service providers around Crypto/Blockchain, Apps developed using A.I, Drones, MessageLoud : Reads emails, texts aloud , though was hoping to see some more noteworthy products in #IoT or #DesignThinking. Some more ; HootBoard : Information Kiosk and Harbor : AI in Insurance

The Alumni : The Returnees (and growing) : HotelsbyDay (we first saw them at TechDay 5 years back) , Personal Robot : Temi, The Edible : Selffee, and Revol Dog Crate. Also, In Color : Rainbow Password , P2P Renting : Rentah and Videomaker : Animoto

50 Year Low : That's the unemployment data . So, over 2 dozen companies slicing and dicing the #Recruitment, Jobs, #Hiring marketplace every which way. Tough to differentiate, yet enough for all in the Hot job market. Goldi : Video Job Board is useful for sales/customer facing roles hiring.

Many Services companies, Tons of Job Givers (& Seekers), Some booths which yield a 'Wow, That's nice !', Its the spirit of #Innovation and #StartUp which is alive and kicking! Cloud, Cyber, Fin Tech, Travel, Realty, Education & Coaching, Health & Care : Areas which always have fresh ideas brewing. Start-up stage and demos/ presentations stayed busy throughout. Booths which allow interaction (meditation pillow, drones) or offer freebies (food tasting, pic portraits) often draw crowd. Conversely, Some starter booths just had the standard company name template, and hardly any other detail/ marketing draw.

The StartUp Color : In different booths, One Color stood out. Maybe it's #Unicorn #Blue

On way back, nice to pass by 'The Biggest Realty StartUp in NYC' : Hudson Yards
