Dall-e is getting better

I've got your news below, but spoiler alert there's not a lot of anything going on that's worth your time.

Now's a great time to take a breather and look at your 2024 strategy. Here are some things to think about.

What Goals Did We Set For 2023?

I'd examine what you wanted to do and where you currently are with your goals. Did one platform crush it for you or crush your dreams (ahem Google)? What's your cost per lead or whatever you measure, what's your ROI?

I have one client where lead cost rose to what I thought was unprofitable but still turned in a 12X return this year after doing the maths.

What's 1 or 2 new things we'll do next year?

With Tiktok, Pinterest and now Reddit in the mix, are you planning on advertising on these platforms or waiting. Is this the year you finally get on this little site called Youtube?

I only list 1 or 2 because it's easy to overwhelm yourself with "all the things."

What's 1 AI tool or process you'll add?

Speaking of FOMO, AI has the ability to really help you, but it also has the ability to slow you down. I believe AI can and should be helping you but I think you need to be careful how you implement it so that it's not a time sink.

I heard this from another leader. "If we are talking AI, then we must commit at least 30 minutes to the process or tool, we bring that learning to the team and vote whether to continue down that path or not."

Updates

  • Reddit rebrands and brings it logo to the 2000 era. Adding a small gradient to the mascot "Snu" and chat bubble to the d's. Honestly, every time a tech company rebrands it's cringe-worthy.
  • Google Ad Chief Jerry Dischler steps down, you know, after revealing what we've known all along, that Google takes advantage of it's customers. (aka cheats). (Source)
  • Google denies placing ads on compromising sites. Here's the source that argues that they are doing it.
  • Google's November Core update is out finally. Prepare for December, because right now organic results are still a mess. (Source)
  • Youtube is rolling out ads on shorts. (Source)
