Today Wonderware Benelux and TechBinder proudly present that they have signed a co-operation agreement to keep driving innovation in the maritime industry.
Early in 2014 both founders of TechBinder and Wonderware Benelux came together to develop a ship monitoring tool. At that time one of the founders of TechBinder worked at an innovative ship builder in the Netherlands while his co-founder worked at Schneider Electric. Together with Wonderware Benelux as their technology partner a pilot was initiated to explore how data could contribute to the ship builder’s business.
The first aim was to enable shipping companies to improve monitoring of asset failure during operation. The goal was to gather data that enables first time right support off shore and in the long run predictive maintenance. We soon discovered that proper use of data could drive efficiency and profit for maritime companies in many ways.
We noticed that in order to keep optimizing margins it is vital that shipping companies improve their control on ship operations and asset performance. This gives more flexibility and faster response while availability and efficiency of ships and assets grow. As a result, profitability of the business will improve as well. Aside, with stronger restrains on the acceptable footprint, it is vital that maritime operations become leaner. Competition coming from low cost countries make it challenging to keep profits as well.
Digital technologies bring opportunities to decrease the cost price, while improving availability and efficiency. As well they help reducing fuel and carbon emissions. This way the profitability of maritime business grows. It will bring new business models that enhance the added value to buyers. We see these opportunities for any company operating in the maritime industry. In other industries the use of these technologies is becoming a license to operate and is changing the competitive landscape rapidly.
With this cooperation agreement TechBinder and Wonderware Benelux declare to speed up their developments to answer to today’s and tomorrow’s Maritime challenges.
By choosing Wonderware software the Maritime industry can access a proven and extensive software suite with a global track record in industrial environments. With AVEVA and Schneider Electric as technology provider we ensure a stable system that will be constantly developed to keep up with technological developments and market demands.
We both look forward to this close co-operation and look forward to work with more international shipping partners.
