TECH5 Today - 2024 Year in Review
Once a year, we publish a special edition of our newsletter. In this issue of TECH5 Today, we have highlighted key announcements, partnerships, product launches, and projects from 2024.
TECH5 launched a new biometric template protection technology, fully compliant with the ISO 30136 standard. This proprietary biometric template protection scheme satisfies the four principal requirements: cancelability, unlinkability, irreversibility and accuracy.
Our advanced multi-layered technology, that seamlessly fuses AI and traditional methods to ensure robust template protection for both the entire database and individual users, will be available in TECH5’s multi-modal biometric matching system, T5-OmniMatch ABIS, for both 1:1 and 1:N modes, across all three biometric modalities – face, fingerprint and iris.
Pangea in partnership with TECH5 provided a multi-modal biometric matching solution (ABIS) to the Electoral Commission of Jamaica, as well as support for the establishment and maintenance of a biometric voter registry. T5-OmniMatch ABIS is used in this project to de-duplicate, identify, and verify voters with fingerprint and face biometrics. The project involved migration from the existing 10-year-old Cogent Automated Fingerprint Processing System (Thales CABIS) platform to the modern multi-modal TECH5’s matching platform.
TECH5 was awarded a contract with the Virginia State Police to modernize the State’s Livescan technology – the technology for capturing fingerprints in a digital format – with advanced features and capabilities.
TECH5’s contract spans 15 years with a current estimated value of 54 million US dollars and will be implemented in phases, deploying a comprehensive suite of SaaS-based services in combination with approximately 800 Livescan systems across the Commonwealth.
TECH5’s biometric and digital ID technologies are used by the Mauritanian Ministry of Digital Transition, Innovation and Public Sector Modernisation (MTNIMA) for its digital ID pilot project, with the aim of replacing passwords with biometrics for access to eGovernment services.
TECH5 won this digital ID pilot project in partnership with local integrator SmartMS through a tender published by MTNIMA and UNDP (United Nations Development Program). The companies provided a jointly developed software solution for digital onboarding and verification of citizens.

TECH5 made one of its core platforms, T5-OmniMatch ABIS BE (Biometric Engine), compliant with the identity-related API categories of the OSIA ITU standard (ITU-T Recommendation) for the global infrastructure of information and communication technologies (ICT), specifically the Population Registry (PR) and Biometric System (ABIS).
The compliance with this latest standard makes TECH5’s platform OSIA-ready to implement IDMS (Integrated Database Management System) and ABIS (Automated Biometric Identification System) into ID systems in the Telecom industry.
TECH5 Co-founder, Chairman, and CTO Rahul Parthe, along with Svyatoslav Senyuta, Government Solutions Regional Leader, CEMEA at Visa, spoke to ID Tech about the technologies supporting the development of digital infrastructure, financial inclusion, biometric data privacy, and how digital ID technologies are already transforming government services.
Auctorizium in partnership with TECH5 provided a turnkey solution for one of the world’s first digital travel credential pilot projects – Finland’s DTC (Digital Travel Credential) initiative!
Auctorizium is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of all technology components of the pilot system, including deployment of TECH5’s T5-OmniMatch facial biometric system that is used in the project for 1:1 and 1:few matching.
TECH5 provided the facial liveness detection technology for the remote identity verification platform of Namirial SAS – a certified remote identity verification service provider, ensuring the prevention of spoofing attacks during digital onboarding and verification. This partnership solidified TECH5’s position and offering in France, where legislation mandates the use of such technologies, and for the European digital onboarding and verification market.
