Arjun Mohan is Byju's India CEO

Things are changing rapidly at Byju's, India's most valuable startup. The company is conducting a strategic review of its assets and subsidiaries, refocusing on its core business.

  • In the process, Byju's has appointed one of its veterans, who has been with the company for over a decade, to lead operations

Driving the news: Byju's has appointed Arjun Mohan, who spent over 11 years with the company before joining Ronnie Screwvala's upGrad in 2020, as the CEO of its India business.

  • Mohan takes charge from Mrinal Mohit, who headed the India business since May last year, after founder Byju Raveendran shifted his focus to international operations

Mohan was the chief business officer of Byju's in his previous stint, where he led the company's sales. He joined upGrad as CEO in 2020 and resigned early this year.

In July, Mohan joined Byju’s to lead its international business.

  • While Byju's had not made any official announcement, Mohan confirmed the development to us.

Tell me more: Earlier this month, we broke the news about a wave of senior leaders quitting Byju's.

Mohit, another heavyweight executive, joins the list now. His exit is perhaps the most prominent of them all.

  • Mohit had a 12-year association with Byju's and was among the founding partners

He was with the two co-founders (Raveendran and Divya Gokulnath) before the brand 'Byju's' existed, so his departure will naturally be a blow to the company, especially as it fights battles on multiple fronts.

Arjun Mohan sir I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inquire about the process for obtaining my experience letter. Having dedicated three valuable years to the company, it is disheartening to find myself in a situation where I must fight for this documentation. Despite numerous attempts through emails, WhatsApp messages, and calls, I have yet to receive a response. I acknowledge the challenges the company may be facing, particularly regarding financial constraints impacting the settlement of Full and Final (FNF) dues. However, I am perplexed by the delay in providing a relatively straightforward document such as an experience letter. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the steps I can take to expedite this process. Your assistance in resolving this matter would be invaluable to me as I plan my next steps in my professional journey. Please help
