For years, tech jobs were a ticket to riches. Generous pay packages, often including significant stock grants, set workers up to ride the success of their employers. But as tech shares have slumped, a big chunk of the wealth employees had planned to tap for big-ticket expenses such as houses and college tuition has dissolved.
