Shaping your data into insightful information
End of November 2024, Chicago, known as the Windy City, hosted the renowned annual Microsoft conference for developers, IT professionals, and partners – Microsoft Ignite.
Attending this conference is like being a kid in a candy store, but instead of candy, it packed with cutting-edge tech and brilliant minds! Picture this: thousands of tech enthusiasts, all buzzing with excitement, converging in one place to geek out over the latest innovations and announcements. The energy is contagious, and you are right in the middle of it, soaking up every bit of knowledge and inspiration. From jaw-dropping announcements to hands-on sessions, Ignite is an unforgettable adventure. And let's not forget the swag – you can have enough socks, stickers and gadgets to last a lifetime!
This year was another whirlwind of exciti ng announcements. From groundbreaking innovations to enhancements across various platforms, the event was packed with news that left every tech enthusiast buzzing. Here are some of the standout highlights:
Personally, my background of developer (though it was far, far away ????) and my obsession with improving processes and daily operations pushed me to focus on sessions related to Azure DevOps, GitHub, the Power Platform, and O365.
Azure DevOps: Microsoft announced several enhancements aimed at improving the developer experience and streamlining workflows. Key updates include:
GitHub: GitHub also saw significant updates, particularly around collaboration and security:
Power Platform: The Power Platform received several enhancements to boost productivity and enable more sophisticated low-code/no-code solutions:
Microsoft 365 Copilot: Copilot continues to evolve, with new features designed to enhance productivity and collaboration:
Honestly, it’s difficult, if not impossible, to summarize in a few lines the vast amount of knowledge you can absorb. The few counts above are just a glimpse compared to the whole package of news announced. The official Book of News is a must-read to delve deeper into the details of each announcement - Microsoft Ignite 2024 Book of News. Your bible for the coming nights ??
In addition to all these technical moments, you can also attend inspiring sessions on various topics. From marketing to commercial discussions, I can have the opportunity to exchange ideas with peers and some executives from around the world!
So what, what can you expect from such an event?
Attending an event like Microsoft Ignite offers numerous benefits, especially for those deeply involved in the Microsoft ecosystem. Below some of the key values from my point of view.
And so what, what did I bring-back from Ignite 2024?
Attending such an event was and incredible experience!
Of course, preparation is required. From the hotel registration to your flying ticket, don’t lose time. Chicago became for one week, the main hub for the Microsoft Community. In the plane, at the Airport, in the streets, everywhere, at any time, you can run into participants. Registering the early as possible is required.
Then, prepare your planning in advance. Microsoft provides you a nice platform with a view on all the available sessions. The most important is to setting clear goals for what you want to achieve and to adapt on daily basis. The huge number of sessions can be a trap and lost yourself within the labyrinth of the Microsoft world.
Don’t hesitate to participate in hands-on labs and engaging with the community.
Very important, don’t try to see everything, it’s just impossible! Define your objectives and focus for the week. Adjust it day after day. At the end, all important information will be public within the hours/days following the event. So, no worries.
And maybe the most important, enjoy each session, each lab, each exchange, each discussion! Everything you will get from this week is unique. You cannot imagine how the frame, the atmosphere and everything in place on site make it unique. I had the chance to meet nice persons ... ?to learn so many things, to get information in preview, … wouawww! ??
Considering the strategic announcement of Microsoft this week about the Cloud in Luxembourg (Microsoft starts Luxembourg cloud service in partnership with Deep by Post | Paperjam English News), I’m looking forward to share all these information with my peers, my colleagues, my customers and partners and all the interested persons.
Cherries on the cake, I shared this experience with a colleague Ramzi Lazaar and friends from the Luxembourg eco-system which made this week even more tip-top!
So, thanks Sword Luxembourg Experience and 微软 oft for giving us the opportunity to represent Luxembourg during this week. We, at Sword, hope to be present to the next session next year. ??
